1. Why do you choose to study at Taylor’s?

Taylor's를 선택한 이유는 무엇인가요?

The reason that I chose Taylor’s is because when I came to Malaysia for aneducation purpose, as I am foreigner student, I didn’t have much choice to choosewhich University/ college. One day I got to hear the fame/ reputation about theTaylors hospitality is one of the best in Malaysia, and that is how I choseTaylors as my university. There is another reason that my brother used to studyin Taylors too. And he told me that Taylors provide good education system thatwill make me concentrate on my studies.

외국인으로서유학 목적으로 말레이시아에 온 이후 당시에는 어떤 대학을 선택 해야 할지에 대한 선택권이 많지 않았어요. 그러던중 Taylor's의 호텔 관광 분야가 말레이시아 최고 수준이라는 것을 알게 되었고, 이를 통해 대학으로서 Taylor's를 선택 했어요. 이외에도 나의 형이 Taylor's에서 공부 한 것 또한 다른 이유이기도한데, 당시 형은 Taylor's가 학생들이 공부에 집중할 수 있도록 만들어 주는 좋은 교육 시스템을 제공 한다고 말 했어요.

2. What is the most interesting activity or project you have done in Taylor’s University that have enhanced your knowledge and/or skills? [Elaboration is required]

Taylor's에서 유학 생활 중 기술이나 지식을 함양 시킨 가장 흥미로웠던 특정 학내 활동이나 프로젝트는 무엇이었나요?

In year 2011 October, there was an activity called “World Food Day” inTaylors and I participated in this activity. This activity is about the packingthe food for the people who are in hunger. Through this activity I got thethink again about the World. what is happening around the World. In the Worldthere are many other people who are still suffering by a hunger. And every fewsecond children are dying because of hunger. It was something new to me, causethe world I knew was where people are living their own life and have no problemwith their every single meals. So through this I got to think again.

2011년 10월, World Food Day 라 불리는 행사에 Taylor's에서 있었는데, 당시 이 행사에 저도 참가를 했어요. 이 행사는 가난으로 굶주리는 사람들을 위해 음식을 포장 하는 것이었는데, 이행사를 통해서 세계와 세계에서 일어 나고 있는 일들에 대해서 다시 생각 해 볼 수 있었던 계기가 되었어요. 세상에는여전히 많은 사람들이 굶주림에 고통을받고 있으며, 지금 이 순간에도 어린이들이 기아로 인해 사망하고 있어요. 지금껏 제가 알던 세상은 사람들이 각자의 삶을 살아가고 매 끼니의 문제가 없다고 알아 왔는데, World Food Day를 통해 다시 생각해 볼 수 있게 되었어요.

3. Can you provide an example of a beyond the classroom experience or a project-based learning which has been very beneficial to you and your course mates?

본인 및 같은 전공의 친구들에게 매우 유익했던 프로젝트 기반 학습이나 현장 학습의 예를 들어 주실 수 있는가요?

During the first semester, for F&B subject we had a project where we must choose onerestaurant and we had to find out as many things as we can about therestaurant, for example how many numbers of table, how many waiter/waitress,kitchen staffs, or how is the decoration of the restaurant. And this projectmade us to get more interesting about the restaurants anywhere we go and it issomehow necessary to get interested in restaurants as we are learninghospitality, I heard that we maybe working as a manager in restaurants too, not only about hotels.

1학기에 식음료(F&B) 과목을 들었을 당시, 프로젝트로서 레스토랑 하나를선택, 선택한 레스토랑의 테이블 수, 웨이터 및 주방 인력, 레스토랑의 실내 장식 등등 레스토랑에 대해서 최대한 많은 정보를 알아 내야만 했어요. 이 프로젝트는 평소에 우리가 아무 생각 없이 가는 레스토랑에 좀 더 많은 관심을 가지도록 만들었고, 호텔 관광분야를 공부 하는 우리에게는 호텔 뿐만 아니라 레스토랑의 매니저로서 일을 해야 할 수도 있기에 레스토랑에 관심을 가지는데 필요한 일이었는지라 기억에남네요.

4. Has e-learning helps in your studies? If yes, how?

E-Learning 시스템이 공부에 도움을 주었나요? 그렇다면 어떻게 도움을 주었나요?

Through e-learning, I got to learn a lot of new things that I never knew. Ihad a lot of assignments during the whole semester, and most likely all theassignments or project required e-learning system. When I use e-learning, Ifound the new sources related to the assignments. To give and example, therewas an assignment about searching what are the disadvantages that the tourismgive to particular country. And related to that I could look through types oftourism, which is also related to the questions, and I could get some moreideas about it.

E-Learning 을 통해 이전에는 절대 모르던 수많은 새로운 것들을 공부 해야만 했어요. 학기 내내 엄청난 과제들에시달리면서, 거의 대부분의 과제와 프로젝트들이 E-Learning 시스템을필요로 했으며, 이를 통해 과제와 연관된 새로운 정보들을 발견 했었어요. 예를 들어, 특정 국가에 관광 산업이 주는 불이익을 조사하는 과제가있었는데, 이와 관련해서 질문과 연계된 관광 산업의 형태를 검토하고, 과제에대한 몇 가지 아이디어를 E-Learning에서 찾아 낼 수 있었어요.
