1. Why do you choose to study at Taylor’s?

Taylor's를 선택한 이유는 무엇인가요?

Nowadays, the varietyof universities around the world is very big and sometimes it is very difficultto choose one. Studying abroad was oneof my biggest dreams and almost two years ago I was confused, because mydecision affects my future life. After along time of talking with students, searching and analyzing information aboutuniversities in different parts of the world I made my choice to study inTaylor’s University in Malaysia. I chose Taylor’s University because I know thathere I will get a decent education, here I have a lot of opportunities forself-realization and self-development.

I am doingInternational Hospitality Management Degree program and I can say, that we havevery strong teaching staff. These people have a great knowledge and realexperience of working in the Hospitality Industry and they are always glad toshare it with us. There are so many amazing things that we can learn from them.

I am looking to thefuture with a confidence, because I am sure that my future employer will seethe true value of all knowledge and skills, which I am acquiring now duringstudying at Taylor’s University.

오늘날 전 세계적으로 수많은 대학들이 있고, 이 대학들은규모가 매우 커서 가끔씩은 어떤 전공을 선택 해야 하는지 매우 어려운 경우가 있어요. 해외에서 공부하는 것은 저의 가장 큰 꿈 중 하나였고, 저의 선택으로 인해 저의 미래가 영향을 받기에 2년 전에는 전공이나 대학의 선택이 혼란스러웠어요. 오랜 시간 동안학생들과 이야기를 하고, 전 세계 대학의 정보를 찾고 분석 한 이후에Taylor's를 선택 했는데, 양질의 교육 과정과 자기 개발 및 자기 실현에 있어서 많은기회가 있다고 판단 했기 때문이었어요.

저는 지금 호텔 경영학 과정을 공부 하고 있는데, 정말대단한 교수진이 있다고 자신 있게 이야기 할 수 있어요. 교수진들은 모두 엄청난 지식과 호텔 및 관광산업에서의 실무 경험이 있으며, 이런 경험과 지식을 저희와 나누는 것을 언제나 좋아해요. 이를 통해서 정말 수많은 것들을 배울 수 있어요.

저는 Taylor's에서 공부 하는 동안 얻고 있는 지식이나기술들의 진실된 가치를 알아줄 고용주가 있다는 생각으로 자신감을 가지고 미래를 계획하고 있어요.

2. What is the most interesting activity or project you have done in Taylor’s University that have enhanced your knowledge and/or skills? [Elaboration is required]

Taylor's에서 유학 생활 중 기술이나 지식을 함양 시킨 가장 흥미로웠던 특정 학내 활동이나 프로젝트는무엇이었나요?

I think, the mostimpressive experience for me was during the second semester of doing degree program- practical classes of Kitchen operations and Food & beverage operations. Taylor’sUniversity gives an opportunity to apply our knowledge to practice. There arefour restaurants run by students. It is an amazing chance to understand howreal process is. Full setup of a restaurant, food preparation and cooking, servingguests by using different techniques, even making a flambé in front of thecustomers everything is done by students. And it is not only about completingtasks, but it is about understanding how teamwork is important, it is a capability to understand how to work withother people.

가장 인상 깊었던 경험은 학위 2학기에 키친운영과 식 음료 관련 실습 강의였어요. Taylor's는 배운 지식을 연습 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고있어요. 학교 내 4개의 레스토랑이 학생들에 의해 운영 되어서어떻게 실제 과정이 이루어지는지를 이해 할 수 있는 기회가 되요. 레스토랑의 완벽한 준비, 음식 준비와 조리, 고객 접대는 모두 다른 기법으로 사용 되며, Flambe(음식 등에 알코올을 가미 불을 붙이는 것)도 학생들이직접 고객 앞에서 시연하구요. 이런 과정은 단순히 일을 마치는 것 뿐만 아니라 팀워크가 어떻게 중요하다는것을 이해하는 것이자, 어떻게 다른 사람과 일을 해야 하는지 이해하는 능력이기도 하죠.

3. Can you provide an example of a beyond the classroom experience or a project-based learning which has been very beneficial to you and your course mates?

본인 및 같은 전공의 친구들에게매우 유익했던 프로젝트 기반 학습이나 현장 학습의 예를 들어 주실 수 있는가요?

We all know thatService Industry is very important nowadays, because we can see a big amount offood outlets and hotels everywhere! And it is interesting to see how my lifehas changed after starting doing my degree. Before, I had never paid attentionto small details whenever I went out for a dinner with my friends, but now Ipay attention to everything, I observe and analyze, because I already haveknowledge of standards and how procedures are supposed to be, because I am afuture employee of the Hospitality Industry.

주위를 둘러보면 어디에든 호텔과 대형 음식점을 발견 할 수 있듯이, 우리는 서비스 산업이 중요함을 모두 알고 있어요. 그리고, 저의 학위를 시작 함으로서 어떻게 제 삶이 달라졌는지 보는 것도 흥미로워요.이전에는 친구들과 식사를 하더라도 레스토랑 같은 곳에 전혀 관심이 없었는데, 이제는 모든것에 관심을 두고, 관찰하고, 분석해요. 왜냐하면 이미 저는 지식을 갖추고, 과정을 알며, 앞으로 호텔 관광 산업에서 일을 하게 될 테니까요.

4. Has e-learning helps in your studies? If yes, how?

E-Learning 시스템이 공부에 도움을 주었나요?그렇다면 어떻게 도움을 주었나요?

Technology isintegrated part of modern life, and Taylor’s university is moving with thetimes. Of course, e-learning helps me alot; it makes a lot of things easier. Taylor’s Online Library provides eBooks,journals and newspapers about various subjects and I can always find theinformation that I am looking for

기술은 현대 사회의 통합된 부분인데, Taylor's는이런 추세를 잘 따라가고 있어요. 당연히, E-Learning은저를 엄청나게 도와 주며, 많은 것들을 쉽게 만들고 있어요. Taylor's의 Online 도서관도 다양한 분야의 전자 도서, 저널, 신문을 제공 하며, 저는 항상 필요로 하는 정보를 찾을 수 있어요.

5. How has the student experience, in terms of co-curricular activities in campus, enhances your social skills with your peers in the University? [To probe on students’ active participation in clubs and societies such as SET, Biosciences Club etc.]

강의 내의 참여 활동 및 클럽 활동과같은 경험이 대학 내 친구들과 본인 스스로의 사회적인 능력을 어떻게 향상 시키나요?

The good thing aboutthe university is that there are a lot of things that you can do after classes:sport clubs, cultural societies, and community services. Also StudentDevelopment HUB organizes programs, which help us to enhance our interpersonaland intrapersonal skills. Leadership Development Series is one of the examples;I found it very inspiring and informative. During the programme we learn thetruth of real leadership, successful people inspire and motivate students bysharing their experience, great trainers share with us priceless informationabout working with people and self-developing, we meet and communicate with alot of new people. This is something that absolutely will help us to buildsuccessful careers.

Studying at Taylor’sUniversity is not only about acquiring knowledge and skills, it is about givingyou an opportunity to develop yourself, to grow as a person, to be awell-intentioned member of the modern society.

Taylor's의 좋은 점은 강의 후 스포츠 클럽, 문화적인 단체, 커뮤니티 서비스 등 많은 것을 할 수 있다는 거예요. 학생 개발 HUB 부서에도 내적 및 외적 인간 관계 기술 함양에도움을 주는 프로그램을 운영하며, 리더쉽 개발 시리즈는 특히나 영감을 주면서도 매우 유익해요. 프로그램이 진행 되면서 무엇이 진정한 리더쉽 인지를 알게 되고, 성공한유명한 사업가들이 그들의 경험을 학생들과 나누면서 학생들에게 영감을 주고 동기 부여를 시키고, 위대한교육 전문가들은 다른 사람들과 함께 일하는 것과 자기 개발에 대한 귀중한 정보를 제공 하죠. 우리는많은 새로운 사람을 만나고 이야기를 나누는데, 위의 이런 것들은 성공적인 경력을 만드는데 도움을 줄것이라고 믿어요.
